Frequently Asked Questions by Parents:

Your questions are important to the technology team. For your convenience, we have posted the most frequently asked questions. If you still have a question after searching the FAQ, please call the media center of the school.

Who do I contact if I want to donate computers, software, or other equipment?

While we appreciate donations of computer equipment, Danbury is teaching students new technologies. If you would like to donate appropriate computers, printers, VCRs, or other technologies, contact the media center in the school. We will accept donations of equipment in good working condition that are compatable to our network and platform. Elementary and middle schools use Macintosh and the high schools use PCs.

What software do you recommend for my child to use at home?

It is always a good idea for students to use a typing tutor type of program at home. Students need time to practice typing and do not have the opportunity to have enough time on task at school to become a good typist. If you would like specific titles used at school, contact the school media specialist.

Elementary students currently use Appleworks for word processing and mPower for presentations. Middle and high school students use Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.

Can my child access his/her documents from home?

At the current time, students do not have access to their document folders from home. We hope to add that capability in the future.

Can I email my child's teacher?

All teachers have email accounts and can use this method of communication with you. Check the individual school web site for the email address of your child's teachers.

Can I see my child's grades/schedules online?

At the current time, parents do not have access to their child's grades or schedules online. Grades and schedules are mailed to the home.
